As a CMMIŽ Level 3 rated organization, DCCA practices an established and industry-tested project management methodology in which defined, disciplined processes are standardized and consistently implemented. Risk is reduced to customers and cost and timeline efficiencies are positively impacted.
DCCA personnel, proficient in the application of the Carnegie MellonŽ Software Engineering Institute (SEI) CMMI model, are also versed in the Project Management Institute Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and the industry-recognized principles of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). These management professionals are present at the DCCA project level, in addition to filling the ranks of the DCCA Program Management Office (PMO). The DCCA PMO consists of a Program Manager and administrative staff with interfaces to corporate resources and subcontractors that facilitate the orderly performance of services and tasks. The PMO conducts monthly management reviews of all DCCA project activities, ensuring that operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
The DCCA PMO guides project teams to:
- Practice CMMI Level 3 compliant processes, including ongoing Process Improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all service levels.
- Ensure that all deliverables comply with the QA requirements of contracts as well as task orders.
- Receive and inspect all incoming materials, and maintains acceptance/rejection logs.
- Perform configuration management (CM) of hardware and software products and baselines.
- Participate in formal in process reviews and conduct periodic formal QA reviews on all products and services provided under this effort.
- Prepare and monitor delivery schedules.
- Track and review project results against documented estimates, contractual commitments, and plans.
- Perform planning, status and performance reporting at all levels, and performance measurement planning and reporting.
