Medicare Chooses Small, Minority-owned Business to Provide Business Process Modeling Support

Ellicott City, Md., April 11, 2008 – Data Computer Corporation of America (DCCA), a minority-owned firm, has been selected to provide business process modeling to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under a new task order valued at nearly $5 million, the company announced today.

David E. Bower, DCCA President and Chief Operating Officer, said the company will work with CMS to model new and existing business processes and the associated information and system services for serving the growing baby-boomer population that is becoming eligible for Medicare benefits.

DCCA subcontractors on the five-year task order are Citizant Inc., of Chantilly, Va., and Navigant Consulting, based in Chicago.

Founded in 1982, DCCA provides a wide range of technology support, including systems modernization solutions, Web services, cyber security, and testing services, to defense, intelligence, and civilian agencies.  Last August, DCCA formally received a CMMI® Level 3 rating for performing to standards required by the Carnegie Mellon® Software Engineering Institute.  An especially noteworthy achievement for a small business, the Level 3 rating provides evidence of DCCA's disciplined, defined, and institutionalized approach to technology development and maintenance activities.
