DCCA AWARDED $15 MILLION CONTRACT BY CENTERS FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID SERVICES Company to Provide Support for Medicare Advantage Reimbursements
August, 2011
Data Computer Corporation of America (DCCA), a veteran-owned high-technology consulting firm specializing in information technology (IT) services for the government, today announced it has been awarded a five-year, $15 million contract by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The contract, awarded through the Enterprise Systems Development ID/IQ vehicle, is to provide support for CMS' Medicare Advantage program reimbursements.
"CMS provides critical healthcare-related benefits to individuals who may otherwise find it difficult to receive such coverage," said David W. Bower, DCCA CEO. "We have been helping CMS support this mission for over a decade and DCCA remains committed to ensuring our customers receive the best service possible. This commitment has contributed to a cooperative long-standing relationship."
Under the terms of the agreement, DCCA will provide analytical and technical services in support of generating and verifying monthly payments to organizations associated with CMS' Medicare Advantage program. Medicare Advantage includes health and prescription drug plans offered by approved private insurance companies. On a monthly basis, CMS provides over $12 billion in payment reimbursements through this program.
DCCA has been supporting CMS' Medicare Advantage and other Managed Care programs for over 15 years. As recently as this year, DCCA completed a legacy system redesign which not only brought CMS' Plan Payment System software and hardware up-to-date with their technical architecture standards, but also provided them with a new user interface that helps CMS perform more efficient payment validations and adjustments.
"We appreciate the confidence CMS has shown in DCCA over the years," said Bower. "And we are certainly looking forward to our continued partnership."
