DCCA was a proud sponsor of a blood drive event hosted at our Santa Maria, CA location on February 8, 2017. This event was to benefit the United Blood Services, a nonprofit community blood center, providing blood and special services for patients in more than 500 hospitals in 18 states, from California to the Gulf Coast. We would like to thank everyone who donated blood at this event!

DCCA was a proud corporate sponsor of the Women in Engineering Day for the Howard County public school system. Women engineers shared their personal and professional experiences working in the field of engineering to inspire some 120 female student participants. This event is designed to encourage girls to continue with their education and pursue career goals working in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Attending students gained valuable networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to develop the skills needed to succeed in reaching their goals.

On November 18, 2016, the CMMI Institute formally appraised DCCA’s systems and software development processes at Capability Maturity Model® Integration for Development (CMMI DEV) Level 4. This achievement provides the highest validation of DCCA’s work and processes, and puts DCCA in an elite group of small businesses that have been independently appraised at CMMI ML 4. The Level 4 rating also confirms the implementation and use of effective quantitative management and process improvement practices that provide DCCA’s customers with lowered execution risk, improved cost and schedule performance and superior quality products.

The core of the contract is geared towards the expansion and enhancement of CMS's Automated Plan Payment System (APPS) program.

On June 17, 2016, DCCA successfully renewed its Capability Maturity Model® Integration for Development (CMMI DEV) Level 3 rating for systems and software development processes. This is DCCA’s fourth consecutive renewal. This achievement validates and underscores DCCA’s commitment to proactive project and process management, as well as its focus on continuous process improvement. A CMMI Level 3 rating reduces risk to DCCA’s customers, giving them a high confidence that they are working with a highly disciplined and effective organization that can deliver a superior product within cost and on schedule.

DCCA was awarded a contract by the U.S. Air Force to help modernize its main communications system. As part of the agreement, DCCA will upgrade the system to an Internet Protocol v6 (IPv6) network as part of the Western Range Modernization Network initiative.

DCCA partnered with the State of Maryland, Energy Administration and the Baltimore Gas & Electric, Smart Energy Savers Program to reduce the energy demand and increase energy efficiency within our Ellicott City corporate headquarters facility. Efficiency improvements included building-wide replacement of all lighting with LED fixtures and occupancy sensors, as well as mechanical and control upgrades with Energy Star Models, which accomplished a 25% reduction of energy consumption. This corporate green initiative was successful in minimizing our environmental impact, enhancing our employees health and productivity, as well as reducing our operating costs.
