DCCA Awarded Agile Development Contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – August 24, 2016 – Data Computer Corporation of America (DCCA), a veteran-owned information technology and engineering services company, today announced it has been awarded a contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to design, develop and maintain the new Medicaid Drug Program (MDP) system. The MDP system will consolidate and replace the current Medicaid Drug Rebate system, Federal Upper Limit calculation for generic drug processes, as well as the Drug Data Reporting for Medicaid system of the Medicaid and CHIP Business Information Solution (MACBIS).

Under the terms of the agreement, DCCA will provide a modernized system using an open architecture to minimize vendor dependence, as well as open source COTs products to reduce costs. DCCA's unique management approach uses human-centric design capabilities to enable short time-boxed periods of delivery. Aligning to the U.S. Digital Services' (USDS) Playbook, this approach allows DCCA to release products to production when ready and provides users what they need as quickly as possible. It also allows for rapid and flexible response to changing business and legislative priorities.

The contract, which will provide higher quality support to manufacturers and other stakeholders, is for four years, if all options are exercised, and has an approximate value of $12 million.

"We're thrilled to spearhead this program, as it will help improve analytics, data sharing, program monitoring, program-to-operations comparisons and state-to-state comparisons for CMS," said DCCA Chief Executive Officer, David W. Bower. "Ultimately, the development of the new MDR system will help consolidate multiple data sources into a single platform, providing increased efficiencies and more intelligent insights into the information stored within the system."
